David has been taking photos for many years with his “toy” Canon (SX520 HS) camera, usually of racehorses and mainly for his own enjoyment. The advent of social media has resulted in him publishing and sharing many of his images on Twitter and Facebook. As part of his Masters studies, he was able to learn the fundamentals of photojournalism. Thanks to the expert tutelage of Kees Metselaar, he learned how to handle a DSLR, discovered how to manipulate depth of field and shutter speed, developed a greater appreciation of how to frame scenes, and discovered the delights of editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic.
